Filipe Reis de Carvalho has more than 16 years of tax experience, including over nine years specializing in US tax with a particular focus on Global Information Reporting. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for leadership and technical expertise.
He currently serves as the Global Information Reporting Leader at Deloitte Canada, where he advises clients on complex cross‑border tax reporting and compliance matters. Filipe is a tax lawyer licensed in Brazil and is in the process of becoming licensed in Ontario.
His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), an MBA, an LLM in Tax and Economic Law, and most recently, an LLM in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to joining Deloitte, Filipe spent nearly four years at Scotiabank as Director, Tax Operational Risk within Global Taxation, where he acted as the second line of defence for the QI, FATCA, and CRS governance model.
Drawing on deep technical knowledge of global information reporting, capital markets, and extensive hands‑on experience with audits and compliance reviews, Filipe serves as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the evolving landscape of global information reporting and tax risk management.
