Azer leads Deloitte’s Enterprise Risk Practice in Canada, covering a broad mandate including business resilience, governance and risk management. With more than 20 years of consulting experience, he previously led Deloitte’s Financial Risk and Capital Management practice, supporting major clients through complex risk and regulatory transformations. Azer has advised on resilience, recovery and resolution planning, enterprise risk management, risk quantification, risk appetite frameworks, governance models, and regulatory compliance, and brings deep expertise in supervisory frameworks, policies, and regulatory reporting.
From 2020 to 2023, Azer served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management at one of Canada’s largest banks and as Chief Risk Officer for its global insurance subsidiaries.
Azer holds an LL.M. in Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, a B.Com. in Finance and Economics from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, and is a Chartered Accountant.
