Tax Senior Manager / Tax Director

As a Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director at Deloitte, you will be managing a team of passionate professionals to build trusted relationships with our clients by delivering to them the best quality tax advice and service. You will be given every opportunity make an impact and advance your career to the next level. As well as helping to manage a diverse portfolio of international and PNG clients, the role features a high level of client ownership and interaction with a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with Deloitte teams in PNG, Australia and overseas. While the role is predominantly income tax focused, indirect tax compliance and advisory work will arise. 

Responsibilities:

The role will include providing services & assistance in relation to:

• Overall management of engagements – client relationship and engagement team management, delivering tailored, quality tax technical advice and managing several different projects and transactions concurrently
• Building client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth of the client base
• Leading, coaching and motivating staff
• Providing advice in relation to industry-specific issues
• Domestic and cross-border transactional-based engagements
• Delivering tax compliance functions for clients, including tax returns and tax effect accounting
• Maintaining quality control

Qualifications:

As a Senior Manager Director within our dynamic team, you will work to make an impact that matters by delivering quality advice across a range of complex matters. You will also possess the following skills and attributes:

• Completed CA, Masters of Tax or similar qualification, with a have a natural desire to continuously expand your tax knowledge
• Prior Tax advisory experience, either a Big 4 or mid-tier professional accounting firm
• A naturally inquisitive mindset and desire to understand your clients’ overall operations, allowing you to deliver the most impactful long-term outcomes
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to consult with and influence stakeholders from all backgrounds and at all levels
• A team player mentality
• Strong mentorship and leadership skills, with a passion for coaching junior team members
• Business Development experience with demonstrable examples of success.
