Interested in applying for a role with us? Here is what you can expect from our recruitment and selection process, including how to prepare and where to find support along the way.
Our selection process is designed to give you the chance to learn about Deloitte, the role and the team you may join – while helping us learn more about your experience, capabilities and the impact you want to make.
Some steps may vary depending on the role, business area or team. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will guide you through the process so you know what to expect at each stage.
Note: To learn more about our hiring process for our Students & Graduate Programs, refer to our Students & Graduate Programs hiring page.
At Deloitte, how we work matters as much as what we deliver. Throughout the process, we will look for examples of how your experience, strengths, and ways of working align with the role and the team you may join.
Our values
Our shared values – Leadership, Integrity, Care, Inclusion and Collaboration – guide how we work with each other, our clients and our communities.
How you approach your work
We’d love to hear about more than just what you’ve done. We’ll also want to get a feel for how you work – how you connect with others, take on challenges and adapt when things don’t go to plan.
Every role is different, so what we ask will vary. As you move through the process, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to talk through your experiences, the choices you’ve made and what you’ve learned along the way. There are no perfect answers – we want to get to know you and what matters to you in your work.

Where relevant, we may also consider how your experience demonstrates the capabilities that help people succeed at Deloitte – such as collaborating with others, solving problems, adapting to change and creating value for clients.
When will I hear from Deloitte?

What happens?
Our interviews are designed to be a two-way conversation.
They're an opportunity for us to learn more about your experience and potential, while giving you the opportunity to learn more about Deloitte, the role and the people you may be working with.
Depending on the role, your recruitment journey may include:
Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will explain which stages apply to your role and what to expect at each point in the process.
What we may explore during interviews
We’ll ask questions to understand your experience, how you approach work, and the impact you have had. The conversation will vary depending on the role, but we may explore examples of how you’ve:
You don’t need to have a perfect answer for every question. We're interested in hearing about your experiences, decisions, learnings and achievements.

Interview timing will depend on your availability and the availability of the relevant interviewers. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will keep you informed as you progress.
Where will interviews take place?
Interviews may be conducted virtually or in person, depending on the role and stage of the process.
Need an adjustment?
We want you to feel comfortable and supported throughout the process. If you need an accommodation or adjustment for accessibility reasons, please let us know when you apply or speak with your Talent Acquisition Specialist before your interview.
What happens?

We generally make offers once all assessments and interviews for the role are complete.

Have a question about our recruitment and selection process? You may find the answer below.
Our interviews are designed to help us get to know you while helping you decide whether Deloitte is the right fit for your next career move.
We'll share information about the role, team, culture and day-to-day responsibilities, and you'll have opportunities to ask questions throughout the process.
The exact format and number of interviews may vary depending on the role.
First interview
This will generally be with your potential Coach, manager or someone you may work closely with. You will learn more about the role, the team and the kind of impact you could make. You may also be asked behavioural-based questions about your past experience and approach to work.
Second interview
For some roles, this may include a case study based on a real or theoretical business scenario. Sometimes we will share information in advance so you can prepare. In other cases, you may be asked to work through the case during the interview.
We appreciate that people work in different ways, so this stage is designed to help us understand how you think, communicate and approach problems.
Note: Some Deloitte business areas do not require a case study or the same number of interview stages. Your Talent Acquisition Specialist will provide more information as you progress.
Final interview
This is usually a conversation with a senior leader or Partner from the business area. It is a valuable opportunity to gain another perspective, share more about yourself and ask questions about the role, culture and team.
We use Behavioural Event Interviewing, which focuses on specific examples from your experience to understand your working style, decision-making and approach to solving problems.
To prepare, think about examples that show the role you played, the choices you made and the outcome you helped create. The STAR framework can help you structure your answers:

For some roles, you may be invited to complete a case study or practical assessment.
A case study lets you demonstrate how you approach a business problem, structure your thinking, analyse information, and communicate recommendations.
Importantly, we're interested in more than the final answer. We're also interested in understanding how you think, ask questions, make decisions and work through complexity.
This stage provides an opportunity to showcase your problem-solving approach, even if you've never encountered the exact scenario before.
