Outline of the webinar

In October 2022, the JSE Proactive Monitoring Committee released a limited scope review on Cash flow information and disclosures of liquidity and going concern. Within this review report they highlighted specific areas of concern that have resulted in entities restating their cash flow statement.

The objective of this webinar is to debunk the cash flow statement and unpack the JSE review report findings to equip participants with the right tools to prepare a cash flow statement that is complete and accurate.

This webinar will cover the following content:

  • Unpacking the requirements of the IAS 7 Statement of cash flows to understand the basics of what information is required to be presented and disclosed in a cash flow statement;
  • Discussing the key areas of concern highlighted in the JSE limited review report and provide guidance and best practice principles on how to avoid these common pitfalls;
  • Working through examples of best practice cash flow statement presentation and disclosure; and
  • Understanding how to present complex cash transactions through an interactive Q&A session

The webinar will cover both the theory associated with the above topics as well as practical examples and model disclosures.
