Our Graduate Programme

The FS Advisory Graduate Programme is a three year rotational programme whereby graduates are given the opportunity to work within the four main teams in the division. Our Graduate Programme offers unrivalled learning opportunities and extensive exposure to a broad range of financial risks. As a graduate you will be able to build and strengthen your risk quantification and management skills.

What to Expect

When does it start?

The FS Advisory Graduate Programme starts in the first few weeks of January.

What will I get to do?

The programme offers you the opportunity to be rotated across our four core business areas for a period of 3 years, giving you extensive exposure to the main financial risk categories including credit, trading, liquidity and treasury risks. Participants acquire a broad range of risk management skills, such as risk and financial modelling, design and implementation of risk / capital / funding frameworks, corporate treasury systems, stress testing, regulatory developments, financial instrument valuations and pricing.

 

Capital

We assist organisations to develop, assess, and implement capital management and measurement processes, driven by both regulatory and business needs. This includes the development of Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) for banks and Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSAs) for insurers.

Valuations

We provide services relating to the valuations of share-based payments along with market-accepted pricing principles and valuation methodologies. We perform fair valuations of financial instruments and derivatives held for investment or hedging purposes, including valuation adjustments (xVAs) to the fair values as required by IFRS 13.

Credit

FS Advisory has extensive experience in credit risk modelling. We provide our expertise to banks and other lending institutions towards the development, validation and implementation of credit risk models based on robust methodologies and in line with global leading market practice.

When do applications open?

Our initial application intake for the Financial Services Advisory Graduate Programme is open from 1 March 2025.  

 

Qualifications

University graduate or students in their final year of study in: (BCom / BSc / BBSc) or post-graduate degree, specialising in any of the following relevant fields:

  • Actuarial Science;
  • Computer/Data Science/Analytics;
  • Statistics/ Applied statistics;
  • (Applied/Financial) Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences;
  • Quantitative Risk Management;

The intention to pursue a professional qualification (CFA / FRM / PRM / FIA / FASSA) is advantageous. Computer Literacy: Experience in C#, Python, R, SAS, or VBA is an advantage.
