DevOps Cloud Platform

Simplify cloud with DevOps and cloud-native utilities

Today’s software development, delivery, and management life cycle is too complex, with an ever-growing list of tooling, integration, and management options. This complexity hampers line of sight into progress, stretches team bandwidth too thin, and renders security and compliance reactive rather than proactive. How can you simplify?

Connecting the cloud with Deloitte’s DevOps Cloud Platform

Deloitte’s solution to simplify software development, delivery, and management complexity is our DevOps Cloud Platform (DCP), which leverages market-leading third-party software, combined with a proprietary, predictive rules-based engine, to provide a highly secure, industrialized CI/CD platform for seamless pipeline integrations with any cloud or hosted environment.

DCP supports the DevOps process by enabling and connecting disparate software and cloud platforms with unparalleled breadth and depth. The DevOps Cloud Platform is a result of years of research and focus to solve the DevOps riddle of too many tools, too many custom configurations, and not enough visibility into and predictability of performance across software and infrastructure life cycles, end to end

DCP helps you accelerate DevOps success

Deloitte’s DCP enables product teams to ship features—at scale—rapidly, securely, and with the highest quality. It also accelerates software delivery and speed to market while avoiding common pitfalls by leveraging industry-leading DevOps practices. With DCP, product teams can fully embrace DevOps services, automation, culture, and lean methods while keeping cost of operations low.

Benefits of DCP

DCP is cutting-edge and uses best-of-breed, open-source, and cloud-provider-agnostic DevOps tools. It is versatile and supports CI/CD, ephemeral pipelines, automated deployments, self-healing, and analytics. DCP is also modular in that its plug-and-play architecture provides flexibility in tool choice. DCP benefits include:

Preconfigured solution: An integrated solution configured using leading practices to accelerate your adoption of DevOps and cloud.

Less operational complexity: DCP abstracts away much of the developmental and operational complexity from cloud deployment, which allows product teams and DevOps engineers to increase productivity. The productivity gains provide you with a competitive advantage via faster, more secure, and more stable releases.

Connected ecosystem: DCP connects vital points across the software ecosystem and can perform CI/CD for applications and infrastructure at any scale, including container orchestration at massive scale, DevSecOps for VMs and containers, compliance-as-config, any-cloud single-config provisioning, DevOps life cycle dashboarding, and reporting.

Flexible consumption model: Fixed support, or DCP as a fully managed service, to give you maximum flexibility in how your cloud operations are consumed and managed.

Multicloud support: DCP supports all types of infrastructure, including major public and private cloud providers, to enable you to operate in a cloud environment that best suits your needs.

Holistic depth-and-breadth view: Your developers can view the entire stack, as opposed to high-level KPIs. This view is attained through a proprietary rules engine, automatic tagging, cross-linking, anomaly detection, and recommendations based on predictive indicators that are integrated on top of data as it is collected.

Comprehensive data collection: At every layer of the stack, your developers have visibility into every step of the application and infrastructure life cycle. This visibility simplifies the process of attaining all critical data points and providing automatic data aggregation and standardization, without the need for extraction, transformation, and loading.

Intuitive recommendations: DCP enables AIOps to resolve possible threats and defects, and it facilitates continuous optimization of applications and environments from both cost and workload perspectives. All of this promotes the use of cloud DevOps best practices, faster resolution of deployment issues, proactive incident detection, and improved application performance.

Declarative compliance-as-config: DCP enables industry-standard compliance with PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, GLBA, SOX, and ISO27k and provides an unparalleled abstraction model to support multicloud operations.

Core components of DCP

Deloitte’s DevOps Cloud Platform lets you customize and prioritize your cloud journey and optimize your operating model by leveraging core components that span the software development life cycle. It helps you develop a cloud ecosystem that fits your organization’s unique needs so you can deploy cloud your way, at your pace, to deliver better business outcomes.

Process

The process pivot helps you build a strategy and road map for DevOps services. We help you redesign your processes to enable Agile delivery, and we use a minimum viable product (MVP) approach that focuses on increased flow and product-development speed.

Architecture

The architecture pivot focuses on achieving automated migration of apps to cloud. Design is shifted from tightly coupled, monolithic systems to loosely coupled web service APIs. We also help you refactor apps to take advantage of the cloud’s speed and agility. The result is nimble, secure, scalable cloud operations and DevOps services teams that spend more time innovating and less time overseeing infrastructure.

Culture

The culture pivot stresses smaller, autonomous DevOps services teams with a higher ratio of engineering talent so that roadblocks can be dealt with at the team level, before production, which helps increase empathy and collaboration between development and operations. This pivot also gives teams greater autonomy in decision-making.

Engineering

The engineering pivot focuses on managing change, eliminating physical and virtual silos between teams, and increasing automation. We implement application containerization for existing and new application architectures while developing a secure, dynamic, and nimble application architecture. We also codify the software development cycle (i.e., pipeline, infrastructure, and policy).
