In 2013, as part of the White House Joining Forces Initiative, Deloitte made a public commitment to double its U.S. Veteran hiring. Then, invited by the White House to do even more, Deloitte decided to tackle the broader national employment and retention challenges — and created the Career Opportunity Redefinition Exploration (CORE) Programs.
CORE's mission is to help transitioning service members and Veterans gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their career goals, while also building the skills needed for a successful transition to civilian life and employment. CORE guides participants through a process of exploring their leadership experiences, strengths, and interests — in an environment of trust and authenticity — to help rediscover meaning and develop a sense of purpose in their post-military careers. CORE Programs are designed, managed, and delivered by Deloitte’s Leadership and Human Potential’s Social Impact Growth and Development team, in collaboration with the broader organization. CORE has impacted thousands of Veterans and inspired hundreds of volunteers.
Our flagship, 2.5-day program delivered at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas, four times each year for selected transitioning U.S. Veterans and service members. The program is supported by dozens of Deloitte leaders, volunteer coaches (most of them Veterans), staff, and external guest speakers. We also host a Corporate Panel discussion with leaders from other organizations as well as a fireside chat with recent CORE Leadership alumni to have them share their experiences and recommendations, bringing additional perspectives to the participant experience.
To be eligible for the program, individuals should:
