AI data centers and their power needs are growing exponentially. By 2035, Deloitte estimates US AI data center demand could grow more than 30fold to 123 gigawatts (GW), up from 4 GW in 2024. Deloitte’s 2025 AI Infrastructure Survey identifies some of the challenges and opportunities. To help close the gaps, the US can develop additive infrastructure to deliver efficiency, capacity, and flexibility. We’ll discuss:

  • Gaps to powering AI
  • Strategies for closing AI infrastructure gaps
  • Prospects for fossil, renewable, and nuclear options
