Banking and capital markets accounting and financial reporting update

Shahira Knight is the Managing Principal in the Policy & Government Relations (PGR) group of Deloitte LLP. She joined Deloitte in June 2019. Shahira has nearly 25 years of experience in government, public policy, and government affairs. Prior to joining Deloitte, she held several senior leadership roles in government, including Director of White House Legislative Affairs, where she served as the liaison between the White House and Congress, and Deputy Director of the White House National Economic Council (NEC), where she helped coordinate the administration's domestic economic policy agenda, including for tax, health care, and financial services. Shahira also served as Senior Policy Advisor on the Ways and Means Committee in the US House of Representatives where she was responsible for leading the committee’s policy and legislative operations. During her time in the private sector, Shahira worked in the Public Affairs and Policy Group at Fidelity Investments and the policy and government relations group of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Shahira served on the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and was a Pritzker fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and her M.A. in Economics from George Mason University.

Doug is a Managing Director in Deloitte’s National Office – Accounting and Reporting Services focusing on ESG reporting, SEC reporting and IPOs. He consults on technical SEC reporting matters, reviews SEC filings, advises clients on transactions and interpretations of SEC and ESG reporting literature, and develops Deloitte's SEC and ESG publications. He has experience serving clients in a variety of industries. He has experience with a wide range of technical accounting (US GAAP and IFRS) and auditing (PCAOB and AICPA) matters.

Michael Wolf is a global economist at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. He provides written commentary and analysis on global economic issues that affect the firm and its clients. He has been quoted by various media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and NPR. Wolf began his career as an economist at the US Labor Department and has since held economist positions at Moody’s Analytics, Wells Fargo Securities, and PwC. He has two graduate degrees, one in economic policy from Columbia University, and the other in statistics from Baruch College. He also has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland.
