Description: Financial Statement Audit professionals serve clients across a variety of industries to understand their businesses, assess risks, and evaluate financial statements, transactions, disclosures, and internal controls. Auditors combine accounting knowledge, professional judgment, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to enhance audit quality and provide meaningful insights to our clients.

Hiring Profile: Accounting – CPA eligible

Description: Distributed Audit & Assurance works in teams across clients, industries, and business models to execute audit procedures, address client risks, and assess internal control processes. Client industries are prioritized over client location and are served from distributed locations. The practice combines data analysis, collaborative delivery, and technical audit experience to support high-quality client service.

Hiring Profile: Accounting (CPA eligibility not required)

Description: Data & Analytics brings client data to life by using innovative tools, analytics, and visualizations to uncover patterns, identify anomalies, and support audit objectives. Working across industries and audit teams, the group turns complex information into clear insights while delivering a more dynamic, data-driven audit.

Description: Technology Controls Advisory helps clients navigate the risks and opportunities that come with digital innovation. The team assesses systems and controls, supports compliance and attestation needs, identifies emerging risks, and develops recommendations that can strengthen resilience, trust, and future-ready business processes.

Description: Business Controls Advisory helps clients strengthen how their organizations operate, manage risk, and make decisions with confidence. The team documents and evaluates key processes and controls, supports audit and regulatory requirements, and identifies ways to improve transparency, compliance, resilience, and overall performance.

Description: Secured Transactions & Support serves clients as they navigate the fast-moving capital markets and securitization environment by performing agreed-upon procedures across the life cycle of structured product transactions. The team connects with investment banks, broker-dealers, originators, and attorneys to allow our clients to demonstrate transparency, meet regulatory needs, and gain confidence in financial information shared with markets and investors.

Deloitte hires students from a range of academic backgrounds; degree requirements vary by role.

Candidates applying for a role within the Audit offering portfolio typically pursue a degree in accounting or a related field, with CPA eligibility required for Financial Statement Audit.

Assurance roles may consider candidates with backgrounds in accounting, technology, or analytics. Technology Controls Advisory relevant majors may include management information systems (MIS), computer science, data analytics, engineering, cybersecurity, and math. Other specialized roles, such as data science and data and analytics, may consider candidates from a range of quantitative disciplines.

Candidates pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degrees may be considered for entry-level roles.

Candidates applying for Financial Statement Audit roles are expected to meet the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure (which may differ from the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam) in the state of their target office location prior to beginning full-time employment.

While other Audit & Assurance roles may not require a CPA, it is still a preferred skill and can open a broader range of opportunities across the Audit & Assurance business.
