Throughout his career, Steven has led dozens of sustainability and environmental research initiatives for public, private, and government clients globally. His experience in this space is underpinned by a technology-focused approach with an emphasis on GIScience, remote sensing, scaled computation, and artificial intelligence/machine learning methods. Working across private industry and academia, Steven has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on climate-related physical risks and social vulnerability.
Steven and the Sustainability team advise clients on climate risk and opportunity assessments, greenhouse gas emissions management, decarbonization strategies and target setting, and regulatory and voluntary disclosure support.
In addition to his current role with Deloitte & Touche LLP, he lectures at universities, serves on technical advisory boards, and peer reviews academic journals. He also supports the Deloitte Foundation, delivering executive education sessions on climate risk to finance and accounting doctoral students and faculty.
Steven received his PhD, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees in environmental management, chemistry, agronomy, and hazards geography from Louisiana State University.
