Robert “Bob” Tross

Robert “Bob” Tross is the Salesforce Lead Alliance Partner for Deloitte’s Government & Public Services practice, responsible for a all annual Salesforce business spanning four subsectors across federal, state, and local markets. In this role, he oversees one of Deloitte’s most strategic technology alliances—driving growth, executive engagement, delivery excellence, and long-term platform strategy at enterprise scale.

He also serves as Salesforce Sector Leader for Defense, Security & Justice (DS&J), where he spends the majority of his time with Department of War and national security clients. Across nearly 30 years in technology leadership, Bob has built and scaled high-performance organizations, delivered mission-critical transformations, and restored momentum to complex programs by bringing clarity, accountability, and disciplined execution.

A technologist by foundation, Bob began his career as a developer and has remained intentionally close to execution. Since 2011, his teams have delivered 70+ net-new federal applications and more than 350 Working Software in Production (WSIP) releases—demonstrating repeatable, scalable performance in highly regulated environments.

Beyond alliance leadership, Bob has shaped Deloitte’s technical talent strategy. Over the past five years, he led GPS campus recruiting at scale—hiring 1,000+ professionals annually at peak—and drove a structural shift from approximately 75% non-STEM hires to over 75% STEM talent, fundamentally strengthening the firm’s technical bench.

Bob’s leadership philosophy reflects his belief that culture eats strategy for breakfast—and for lunch. He frequently draws on John Wooden’s principles, including “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail,” “Make each day your masterpiece,” and “I’d rather have a player who makes a team great than a great player.” These ideas guide how he builds teams, mentors leaders, and drives execution.

Outside of work, Bob is a husband to Marcie and a proud father of three. He is an avid golfer, surfer, and eFoiler—disciplines that reward balance, repetition, and adaptability. For more than a decade, he has coached youth basketball, bringing Wooden’s philosophy to life on the hardwood and investing in the next generation of leaders.
