Maria Demeke is a Principal at Deloitte with over 20 years of experience leading transformations across federal agencies, state and local governments, private enterprises, and non-profit organizations in the US and globally. Currently, Maria leads Deloitte’s offering on workforce development – which focuses on labor market growth and upskilling at scale. She brings expertise in macroeconomics and workforce trends, alongside insights into market demands and technological advancements to address skills gaps. 

She has advised leaders across multiple sectors to support job creation, workforce agility, and sustainable economic growth. Highlights of clients include the World Bank Group, United Nations, International Monetary Fund, US Dept of State, US Postal Service, the FIFA™ World Cup and a range of private sector clients. 

She holds a Master of Public Policy in International Trade and Finance from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
