Matt is a principal in Deloitte Tax LLP's Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Transaction Services practice, based in New York. He advises private equity sponsors and multinational corporations on acquisitions, divestitures, and acquisition structuring, with particular depth in cross-border deal structuring and the interplay of foreign and US tax rules. His industry focus includes technology and software, aerospace and defense, consumer, industrials, infrastructure, and professional services.
In addition to his client service role, Matt leads Generative AI efforts for the M&A Transaction Services Tax practice, including development and adoption of AI-enabled tools to support tax due diligence and deal execution. He also assists with several innovation-focused efforts within the broader tax practice, working at the intersection of tax technical delivery and emerging technology.
Before joining Deloitte Tax, Matt practiced law, advising companies across the M&A lifecycle on merger agreements, purchase agreements, partnership and joint venture agreements, and tax receivable agreements.
