Karthik is a principal in Deloitte Consulting's Strategy and Transactions portfolio and a leader within its Performance Improvement and Restructuring practice. Karthik advises and delivers performance improvement and value creation through turnarounds, transformations, and transactions.
Over the past 22 years, Karthik has led enterprise-wide programs that have delivered $12 billion in recurring value across 25 engagements. His work spans margin improvement, sourcing and third-party spend optimization, labor productivity, operating model transformation, and cash and liquidity performance for large public enterprises. Karthik primarily serves healthcare and life sciences organizations, with additional experience across financial services, automotive, technology, media, and telecommunications.
His experience is grounded in large-cap buy-side execution. Karthik has advised strategic and financial investors on more than 50 transactions representing $205 billion in announced deal value, including several of the largest combinations in healthcare, with work extending from diligence and deal structuring through antitrust, closing, integration and separation. That foundation runs directly through his current practice, where much of his value creation work protects the deal itself, capturing the synergies and performance commitments made to investors and boards. For his contributions in the field of M&A and financing, he was named an Emerging Leader in M&A, Financing, and Turnaround and recognized among the M&A 40 Under 40 by “The M&A Advisor” in 2017.
Karthik also leads national go-to-market strategy for Deloitte's Performance Improvement and Restructuring practice, shaping its commercial strategy and standards and advancing the use of AI and data in how opportunities are identified, evaluated, and delivered.
Before joining Deloitte, Karthik spent nine years at Cognizant, focused on healthcare consulting and large-scale technology and operations integration during the company's expansion from approximately $1 billion to $8 billion in revenue.
Karthik holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from NYU Stern School of Business and a Master of Computer Applications from the University of Madras.
