John is a partner in Deloitte's Controllership & Treasury Transformation practice, where he leads AI-enabled controllership across the reporting, close, and data platforms finance depends on.
Over 18 years serving CFOs and controllers, John has worked both sides of the controller's agenda. On the technical side, he has advised on the accounting and SEC reporting requirements of acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, and initial public offerings, along with accounting standard implementations and sustainability reporting. On the transformation side, he has redesigned operating models and implemented the technology that supports them. That combination shapes how he approaches AI in finance, where the constraint is rarely the technology and almost always the governance, internal controls, and audit evidence a reporting environment demands.
John received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a licensed CPA in Texas and Florida, and a member of the AICPA.
