Aerospace client dives into supplier data to future-proof investment

An aerospace manufacturer struggled to identify a surface coatings provider that could meet its needs. Deloitte combined CentralSight capabilities with industrial base analysis to better understand the market and develop an industrial roadmap. This helped identify and thoroughly vet a group of domestically operating alternate suppliers, shortlisting viable partners for the client. Deloitte even identified a commercial supplier that was in technical alignment with the client’s needs.

Defense client reviews the inner workings of supply chain

To identify and assess key suppliers for a vital weapon system, a client leveraged the CentralSight illumination technology. It discovered that one key supplier was using a cloud service from a US-sanctioned entity in China. This platform was crucial for the supplier’s operations, including collaborative design, engineering, and project management. This proactive approach secured its supply chain and sensitive information. Further investigation later followed.

Hospitals unlock insights to avoid medical supply shortage

CentralSight was able to map key medical supply chains across several private hospital systems—down to the raw materials level. This insight revealed a looming surgical glove shortage, primarily due to overreliance on Southeast Asia for manufacturing, coupled with export restrictions at the time. Leadership then concluded that a US-based supplier, heavily dependent on Southeast Asian imports, would be significantly impacted.

DoD client validates compliance of materials for critical system

Before purchasing products from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to be used in a critical communication system, a DoD client wanted more information. Our team conducted a full supply chain and industrial base assessment focused on key locations of the OEM. CentralSight helped identify three undisclosed small Chinese manufacturers and two foreign testing and assembly partners used by the OEM. This led to their removal from the DoD’s approved list.
