Since 2016, Deloitte and Workiva have built an alliance to empower finance, sustainability, and risk professionals to improve internal and external reporting processes, improve risk management, and enhance reporting control environments. Deloitte enables client teams to fully leverage Workiva’s collaborative reporting platform with traceable, trackable, and trustable data complete with a full audit trail and connections to source systems’ data.

 

  1. Help clients with financial, governance/risk, and ESG digital transformation to achieve reporting and compliance functionalities that are automated, auditable, and repeatable.
  2. Extend SAP S/4 HANA, Oracle Cloud, and other financial, compliance, and ESG solutions with Deloitte solutions built on Workiva’s cloud platform for collaborative reports.
  3. Create end-to-end visibility into critical reports (financial, ESG, and GRC) and mitigate risk for c-level stakeholders, like chief financial officers, chief risk officers, chief compliance officers, controllers, and others.

Tom Harris

Partner

Tom has 20+ years’ experience in consulting and operational roles specialising in the use of data, AI and technology in delivering sustainability and transformational business change. He is focused on applying this to solve climate and sustainability problems, particularly in operationalising his client’s transition plans. Having started as an engineer, Tom has spent his career delivering data and technology driven transformation programmes. He couples his expertise and passion for Data, Technology and AI with a passion and expertise in Sustainability. Tom leads Deloitte UK’s Digital Sustainability & Climate capability, and Deloitte’s Global Sustainability & Climate data offering.

Simon Atherton

Director

Simon is a Director in our CFO Advisory practice at Deloitte UK. Simon leads our Digital Controllership capability focusing on optimising process across the R2R and cost accounting spectrum and implementation of tools to deliver automation. Simon’s primary focus over the last three years has been S/4 projects including the Finance Information redesign and implementation, including cost accounting and R2R standardisation and optimisation. Simon is also the EMEA-UK leader for our Workiva alliance and has led Workiva engagements across a range of use cases, including annual reporting, global stats, and ESG.

 

Financial Reporting:

Workiva modernises the last-mile reporting process by streamlining internal and external reporting to deliver fast, more accurate financial statements with connected data. It links directly to data sources, replacing manual tasks, and eliminating the security risk of uncontrolled data. Workiva centralises data form multiple sources, unifying financial and non-financial data in a controlled cloud environment.

With Workiva, users can automate data collection from different departments using flexible templates. Workiva’s pre-figured connectors enable the import of data from multiple accounting and financial systems into the platform, with output reports meeting eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging requirements.

Workiva enables sharing measurable progress towards an organisation’s ESG goals to increase transparency, improve data and reporting quality control, as well as drive stakeholder business value.

Workiva operationalises all ESG reporting workflows to assign tasks, track progress, and collaborate in real time. It automatically captures audit history, provides the links to underlying files, supports identifying and assessing risks and gaps, and enhance data validation for assurance with authorship controls.
