Deloitte comments on today's GDP figures
Commenting on today’s ONS GDP figures, Debapratim De, director of economic research at Deloitte, said:
“UK growth has slowed over the summer months. After the surprisingly strong first half, this was perhaps inevitable. But activity in the production sectors, especially manufacturing, has weakened significantly.
“We expect a slight downward revision to growth forecasts for 2024, but the additional public spending announced in the autumn budget should boost activity next year.”
