Deloitte comments on today’s ONS inflation figures
Commenting on today’s ONS inflation figures, Debapratim De, senior economist at Deloitte, said:
“Both core and services inflation, watched closely by economists as indicators of how embedded price pressures are, have accelerated in May.
This makes a rate rise by the Bank of England this week near certain and materially increases the likelihood of further rises well into autumn.”
