Roopa is a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Global Export Controls and Sanctions team in London, United Kingdom. Roopa has experience in working on large-scale global IT outsourcing, technical and consultancy projects ensuring export control & sanctions compliance, across the Aerospace & Defence, Military & Nuclear industries in compliance with multilateral regime regulations for the transfer of intangible items.
Roopa has worked on implementing global internal export control compliance for an IT enterprise. Aspects involved the roll out of processes, training, risk assessment of new projects, bid work, implementation of restricted and denied party sanction screening including group escalation criteria for new deals involving sanctioned, restrictive or embargoed countries and appropriate employee national security vetting requirements, including technical solutions relating to the architecture of systems, infrastructure and environments.
Roopa has also worked in project delivery of new IT applications, system migration, process, governance and organisational IT transformation.
Roopa’s recent work to date involves assessment of IT infrastructure and technical data separation for compliance with M&A transactions, including working with clients internal IT and outsourcing or cloud service providers to migrate and implement solutions for technical data in compliance with global export control regulations. Roopa has also been involved with TMT industry clients on providing operational input for global issues and improvements. Roopa holds an ITIL Foundation accreditation and is LEAN competent. Roopa holds a Bachelors Degree with Honours in Business Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence.
