Deloitte has appointed Suzanne McDonald as lead partner of its Health and Social Care offering. As head of the healthcare portfolio, Suzanne is focused on providing health and social care clients with services ranging across strategy, risk and financial management, workforce planning, operational improvement and health technology.
Shane Mohan, Head of Government and Public Services at Deloitte, commented: “We are delighted that Suzanne has joined Deloitte to lead our health and social care team. Healthcare is experiencing a lot of disruption, both globally and in Ireland, with new entrants into the healthcare market and a greater emphasis on delivering care in the community. Suzanne will lead our professionals in helping clients assess the impact of these trends and support them in making the necessary investments and decisions to take advantage of the opportunities that they bring.”
Suzanne joins Deloitte with over 25 years’ experience of working in the health sector. Her experience includes over 15 years working in pharmaceutical regulation with the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), where she worked with national and international bodies such as the Department of Health, the European Medicines Agency and the World Health Organisation (WHO). Suzanne has also worked in private healthcare, as CIO and Head of Quality with the Mater Private Healthcare Group.
As an experienced board member in a number of sectors including NGO, telecommunications, and higher education, Suzanne also supports clients on strategy and governance. She is a member of the Institute of Directors (UK & Ireland), and with a special interest in healthcare technology she is a member of the Irish Computer Society and Health Information Society of Ireland (HISI).
Suzanne commented: “Our goal is to work in partnership with our clients to support the delivery of services that provide meaningful and lasting outcomes for organisations, patients and their families. I am really pleased to join the Deloitte Health and Social Care team, with its unique combination of industry expertise coupled with its outstanding technology capability. Technology is changing the way in which healthcare is delivered and there is an increasing focus on the role of supporting technologies such as electronic health records in Ireland, in addition to disruptive technologies such as robotics and AI.”
