Meet the Team Deloitte athletes competing at Paris 2024

Alexander Purnell

Alex Purnell is the Olympic rower who keeps his balance when the pressure is on.

Aran Zalewski

Aran Zalewski is the hockey player and consultant who is ready to lead his teams to victory—on the pitch and in business.

Curtis McGrath

Curtis McGrath is the Paracanoeist who will steer Deloitte projects toward success. He hopes his Paralympic story includes three key chapters: recovery at Rio 2016, performance excellence at Tokyo 2020, and mentorship at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Félix Denayer*

Felix Denayer is the hockey star and Deloitte ambassador helping young talent reach their potential—on the pitch and in business.

Jan van der Bij

Jan van der Bij is the Olympic rower making waves at Deloitte. He first joined the Dutch national rowing team in 2018, and after winning gold in the men’s four at the 2020 European Championships he made his Olympic debut at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

With a knack for analysis, Jip Janssen is the hockey player and consultant who is always thinking two plays ahead.

José Basterra

When it comes to hockey, Jose Basterra is never afraid to take the shot. He’s also passionate about energy transition, sustainability, climate change, digitization, and sports as a positive catalyst for change.

Justin Phongsavanh*

Justin does more than compete in javelin. Fueled by an innate desire to be successful, Justin looks to excel both on and off the field.

Lee Kiefer*

As a medical student and advocate, Lee’s successes go beyond fencing. In the lead-up to Tokyo 2020, where she won a gold medal, she balanced training and her studies. Lee’s place as one of the top fencers in the world gives her a platform to advocate for mental health and well-being.

Nevin Harrison*

There’s more to Nevin than sprint canoe. She’s also a passionate student, pursuing a career in the medical field while training.

Oliver Zeidler

After a successful swimming career, Olli Zeidler traded his goggles for a racing shell in 2017 and is the reigning world champion in the men's single scull. Today, he’s the rower taking Deloitte client needs to the finish line.

Pieter du Preez

Pieter du Preez’s childhood dream, 35 years in the making, was realized when he won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. And with nearly 18 years at Deloitte, he truly has become “Supa Piet,” as he balances his family, work, and training as he strives for his third Paralympic Games.

Simone van de Kraats

Simone brings the intensity to her matches as a leading goal scorer - and brings the same accuracy to her problem solving as a Deloitte analyst.

Zoë Hyde

Zoë Hyde is the rower helping Deloitte clients pull ahead.Zoe began rowing with the Irish national team in February 2022 and won silver in the women’s double sculls at the 2022 World Rowing Cup II,followed by bronze in the women's double sculls at the 2022 World Rowing Championships.Zoe is excited to be aiming for her first Olympic Games alongside her Team Deloitte colleagues.

We are excited to continue cheering these athletes on throughout their future sporting and business endeavors. Some will fully dive into their business roles while others already have qualification for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games on their mind.

Abe Wiersma

Abe Wiersma started rowing at age 14 when a friend’s father asked him to fill in for his son’s teammate, with the promise of pancakes at the finish line. Abe agreed and the rest is history.

Alexandre Ferreira de Almeida

Alexandre is committed to his performance in matches but also to his sport overall, serving as an athletes’ representative to its international federation.

Alexanne Verret

Alexanne Verret is the epee fencer and analyst who is ready to lunge at client challenges.

Caleb Antill

One might say Caleb Antill “rows like a consultant” by developing strategies and analyzing his endurance to best competitors who have a size advantage over him.

Chantal Liew*

Chantal Liew’s got the stamina for both marathon swimming and digital strategy. Now she is ready to make her mark at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 qualifications.

Charalambos Charalambous

Charalambos Charalambous has been competing on the Cyprus men’s national team since he was 16 and credits his sport for helping him keep calm when the stakes are high.

Cole Rowan

Pole vault first piqued Cole Rowan’s interest when he discovered it involved less running than other track and field events. Now he’s taking clients to new heights.

Eric Duda

Eric Duda is the sitting volleyball player who sets his clients and teammates up for success.

Georgia Hansen

Georgia Hansen is the mid-distance runner and analyst helping Deloitte clients find their stride. She’s competed at several international competitions, including the World Cross Country Championships, and is hoping to make her debut at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Ingibjörg Grétarsdóttir

Ingibjorg Gretarsdottir started training Taekwondo at eight years old after seeing a show in her hometown—now she’s bringing form and focus to the mat.

Ian Dors is the Para triathlete and data analyst who is always thinking two steps ahead. Why focus on one sport when he can champion three?

Jacob Alexander Panayotis Diakovasilis

Jacob jumped into the weightlifting world after entering (and winning) his first competition in 2016.

Kenta Tokunan

Kenta Tokunan is the Deloitte fencer who can think on his feet. After competing in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a leading athlete for Japan’s national team he’s now looking to qualify for his third Olympic Games. Kenta serves on several boards and is always looking to make an impact through sports.

Kenny Kasperbauer

After a friend invited Kenny Kasperbauer to attend a summer camp at a local canoe club, Kenny fell in love with the sport because of the precise balance, strength, and technique needed for success.

Kimberly Lim

Kimberly Lim is the associate and sailor who can navigate rough waters with ease. Kimberly is excited to showcase the energy, passion and teamwork athletes can bring to business with her work at Deloitte.

Laura Steenstrup Zeeberg

Laura often uses the analogy that sailing is like playing chess while running on a treadmill – a thrilling challenge for both the body and mind.
