Shefali Goradia is the chair of Deloitte South Asia. She leads the coordinating board in fulfilling its stewardship and fiduciary responsibilities and works closely with the Executive Committee on strategic and other commitments.

She also leads Deloitte’s Boardroom Program in South Asia, building and engaging a strong community of independent directors and governance leaders. Through this platform, she focuses on advancing conversations on effective governance, board performance, and emerging themes such as enterprise trust, AI, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

With over 35 years of experience in international tax, Shefali is widely recognized as a leading authority in cross-border structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganisations. She has advised multinational corporations, private equity funds, and financial institutions on complex tax matters, and regulatory strategy.

Shefali is the vice chair of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association and serves as an advisor to the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (Tax). She is a member of the Executive Committee (Western Region) of the American Chamber of Commerce in India and has also served on its National Executive Board (2025-2026). More recently she has chaired Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Corporate Governance Committee on Board and Board-related matters. Her work has been consistently recognised by leading global publications including Euromoney, Who’s Who Legal, and Lexology, where she has been featured as a Global Elite Thought Leader (Tax Advisory).

She is passionate about leadership development and actively mentors professionals, encouraging them to take on leadership roles and build long-term careers. Shefali is a Chartered Accountant (gold medalist) and is based in Mumbai, India.
