Rich Hyman

International Tax and Transfer Pricing Leader | Deloitte Tax LLP

Rich Hyman is the East region leader of tax reform advisory services, the Philadelphia office tax managing partner, and the Philadelphia international tax practice leader. Hyman has more than 23 years of experience with the firm in serving multinational companies.

Richard S. Hyman is Deloitte’s Global and U.S. international tax leader. Richard has more than thirty years of experience with the Firm in serving multinational companies in the manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, technology, and consumer products sectors. During this time, Richard has advised clients on international mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, tax efficient supply chain and financing structures and other global tax and treasury matters in Asia, Europe and the Americas while closely collaborating with clients’ cross-functional leadership.

Areas of subject matter specialization include global tax planning, foreign tax credit enhancement, repatriation strategies, international tax attribute studies and accounting for income taxes. He has served as the national leader of multiple practices within Deloitte Tax LLP’s (“Deloitte Tax”) international tax service line, including the International Compliance and Reporting Services (“iCRS”) and International Tax Quantitative Consulting Services (“IT.QCS”) practices. Additionally, Rich has led our International Tax ASC 740 competency group and worked with some of Deloitte Tax’s largest clients in the resolution of complex tax accounting issues and in the area of ASC 740 process enhancement.

Richard has presented at Executive Enterprises and has spoken on the topic of “Advanced Issues in the Application of FAS 109 for the Global Organization” at Deloitte Tax’s International Tax Roundtable. He also has spoken before the International Fiscal Association, the Tax Executives Institute, and the Deloitte Global Tax Roundtable on various international tax topics.

Richard has a B.S. from the University of Delaware and an M.S. in Taxation from Villanova University, where he has served as an adjunct professor teaching outbound International Taxation. He is a CPA in Pennsylvania and a member of the International Fiscal Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
