Michelle Gallagher

Michelle is a partner in Deloitte’s Multistate Tax Services practice, and leads it. She is based in Parsippany, New Jersey and is the Multistate Tax Practice Leader for the office. She is also the National Multistate Tax Leader for the Media & Entertainment industry, with over 16 years of tax experience specializing in multistate income and franchise tax consulting, and compliance services.  Gallagher has a strong focus on apportionment and nexus, comprehensive state tax reviews, and voluntary disclosures. Her professional experience encompasses various aspects of state and local taxation including income tax return preparation and review, research and memoranda, audit defense, ASC 740 reviews, attribute-tracking and analysis, and corporate-restructuring and transactions. She has also spoken at various conferences on state tax considerations.

She holds a master’s degree in taxation from Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business, and a bachelor of business administration from the University of Notre Dame. She is affiliated with the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
