Hidehito Goda

Hidehito Goda has been Audit & Assurance (A&A) Business Leader of Deloitte Asia Pacific (AP) and a member of AP Executive and Global A&A Executive since June 2022. Prior to this current role, he was a Managing Partner of Deloitte Japan as Chief Global Officer, and A&A Chief Operating Officer (a member of AP A&A Executive) and Public Policy Leader (a member of AP Risk Executive) of Deloitte AP.

He has more than 29-year experience in Deloitte since April 1995, mostly engaging in audits under the standards of PCAOB (United States) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA), serving mainly multi-national banking and general trading clients listed in the United States.

He specializes in integrated audit of large global enterprises adopting US-GAAP and IFRS. He also has extensive experiences in assurance and related advisory services around global offerings, merger and acquisition, SEC regulations, internal controls, the first-time adoption of IFRS and new accounting/disclosure standards. He was Global Lead Audit Partner (the signing audit partner) of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., one of the largest audit clients in the world, from July 2015 through July 2020.

He has audit experience in the United States from 1999 through 2001 and holds CPA qualification in Japan and the United States (State of Illinois). Outside Deloitte, he served as part-time teacher of Waseda Business School (International Financial Reporting) from 2008 through 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tokyo.
