Doug Welch

Doug is a Principal in the Deloitte US Consulting practice where he leads the Life & Annuity insurance segment.  Doug has over 35 years of experience focused primarily on insurance and asset management. Previously, he was responsible for the Operations functions (new business, inforce, claims, underwriting, etc.) of a major US financial services firm with distribution of life, annuity and investment solutions through captive and independent distribution channels.  He has specific expertise in areas ranging from distribution through operations and technology and his clients have included many of the largest US and global insurance companies.  Doug has also played a key leadership role in Deloitte’s Life and Annuity benchmarking, has presented at a number of industry forums  (e.g., LOMA / LIMRA), and has  contributed to various industry publications.
