Duncan is the elected Chair of Deloitte Canada and Chile.

Prior to his election as Chair, Duncan was a Vice Chair of Deloitte Canada and Chile, focused on advising major institutional investor clients, global private family businesses, and regional governments.

For more than 35 years, Duncan has served clients across the globe in the mining, telecommunication, consumer business, manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors, as well as national and regional governments. In addition to his client responsibilities, Duncan has been Director of Audit, Managing Partner of the firm’s Edmonton office and the Regional Managing Partner of British Columbia.

In recognition of his exceptional service to the profession, Duncan has been named a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (FCPA).

Deeply committed to public policy, Duncan established Deloitte’s Future of Canada Centre, which is responsible for the firm’s thought leadership and public policy positions, including Deloitte’s ambitious Canada 175 eminence program, a series of perspectives which outline what it will take for Canada to be the best country to live and work.

As the inaugural Dean of Deloitte University North, Duncan was responsible for leadership development at Deloitte Canada and Chile. Passionate about growing and developing those around him, Duncan believes leadership means rolling up your sleeves and getting to work on shared challenges. Of particular pride is the number of leaders Duncan has mentored to grow into incredible partners at the firm.

Duncan is dedicated to excellence in board governance across private, public and not-for-profit organizations and advises extensively on governance modernization and strategic oversight.
