Working hand in hand to help create change for young women in work.

How Deloitte UK supports Young Women’s Trust as they work to foster financial inclusion for women in England and Wales.

Committed to achieving economic justice for young women, Young Women’s Trust campaigns for change while equipping women with many of the skills they need to help raise their incomes.

Ariana Frampton, a senior manager in Consulting at Deloitte UK, is passionate about diversity and inclusion. Inspired by the work Young Women’s Trust does, she volunteered to serve as the relationship manager between the two organizations. Her role helps young women tap into and leverage the collective skills, pro bono knowledge, networks, and ideas that Deloitte UK people offer. This helps to support Young Women’s Trust’s ambitious goal of creating tangible change in the lives of young women.

1. How does your volunteer role with Young Women’s Trust help them create impact?

Ariana: I’m the first point of contact for Young Women’s Trust, so I provide support through regular calls and guidance while linking them with pro-bono opportunities, fundraising, and volunteers. I share a deep belief in the charity’s mission. Deloitte UK and Young Women’s Trust share common values and a keen desire to affect societal change in the moments that matter. It can be a big task, but an incredibly rewarding privilege to be able to bring my skills and experience to this work.

“We focus on strategic support that helps to create real-world impact, and give women uplifted by Young Women’s Trust advice that can help them put their best selves forward.”

– Arianna Frampton, Major Programs Sr. Manager Deloitte UK

2. How does Deloitte UK support Young Women’s Trust? What skills and capabilities are helping to be built?

Ariana: Each charity that Deloitte UK works with, supports the collective aim of positively impacting 5 Million Futures, part of Deloitte’s global WorldClass ambition to reach 100 million people by 2030. The programs focus on skills, education and employability and it was important to find an organization that specifically empowers women.

As a team, we think about how we can help Young Women’s Trust create a more equal world of work. We focus on strategic support that helps to create real-world impact, and give women uplifted by Young Women’s Trust advice that can help them put their best selves forward. The Deloitte UK team of twenty volunteers offer direct feedback on applications and CV reviews to help women find work. Deloitte UK also funded the creation of a brand-new peer networks service, which aims to provide young women with opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges in their work journey.

3. How will you support Young Women’s Trust through your relationship manager in the future?

Ariana: Young Women’s Trust have several initiatives around investing in their digital infrastructure, so it’s important to make sure they have the right tools to work directly with young women. Deloitte UK volunteers look at what topics would be appropriate and see how we can help Young Women’s Trust make an impact in women’s lives. We’ve also put workshop sessions together, with topics like negotiating a pay rise, finding fulfilling work, or tackling discrimination in the workplace, to help women connect and learn something new while sharing their experiences.
