The last mile to a sustainable future

Purolator charges ahead, striving for net-zero emissions

The situation

The urgency to shift towards sustainability has never been greater, driven by escalating consumer demands, government regulations, and market incentives creating a catalyst to address the climate crisis. Purolator was looking to turbocharge its journey towards slashing GHG emissions, aiming to electrify 60% of its last-mile delivery vehicles by 2030. This move would extend their eco-friendly reach across 99.9% of Canada's vast 10 million square kilometers.

The solution

Purolator worked with Deloitte as its strategic collaborator to craft a comprehensive roadmap for its nationwide fleet decarbonization, covering strategic planning, and optimization strategies.

Navigating the ever-changing landscape of technology, regulations, and consumer demands presents challenges and opportunities. In partnership with Deloitte, Purolator has developed a robust strategy to cut scope 1 & 2 emissions by 42% by 2030. This strategy includes optimizing operational efficiencies, leveraging infrastructure upgrades, and tapping into government incentives to reduce costs.

Our collaborative effort is propelling Purolator towards a greener future, ensuring they meet their sustainability goals with confidence.

"A couple of years ago, we decided that we wanted to be the greenest courier in Canada. We knew that in order to achieve that goal, our last mile delivery vehicles had to be a priority for Purolator."
