According to our new CxO Sustainability Report, there is no doubt about the continued commitment of companies to the climate fight. Investments in sustainability initiatives are on the rise, and sustainability is moving into the strategic engine rooms of Nordic companies these years.

Highlights from the report:

• 85 percent of top executives in the Nordic countries expect that climate change will have a high or very high impact on their companies' strategy and operations within the next three years. This is a significant increase from 2023 and is significantly above the global average.
• In addition to climate change, the report also shows that Nordic top executives are focusing on a wide range of sustainability initiatives. For example, 42 percent of the leaders surveyed indicate that they are in the process of transforming their business model to address climate change, while 41 percent state that sustainability is integrated throughout the organisation.
  
• 92 percent of the Nordic top executives surveyed state that they are concerned about climate change all or most of the time. This figure has increased significantly from last year and is significantly higher than the global average of 76 percent.
  
• Despite the great concern, there is also a sign of optimism. At the same time, 98 percent of the Nordic leaders report a high degree of optimism about the potential benefits of climate action, which is also a larger proportion than last year.

About the survey

Deloitte's CxO Sustainability Report is based on responses from over 2,100 top executives from 27 countries about their views and strategies related to sustainability and climate change. The survey includes 131 top executives from Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
