Deloitte was proud to take part in Finland’s leading youth entrepreneurship event, Uskalla Yrittää (Dare to Venture), a nationwide competition highlighting young entrepreneurs from the Vuosi yrittäjänä (Year as an Entrepreneur) programme. This initiative allows students to run real businesses with actual clients, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience.
Deloitte professionals served as judges at the Uusimaa regional event held on 3–4 March 2026 in Espoo. The winning team progressed to the National Final, which took place at Helsinki’s Tripla shopping centre on 28 April 2026, where Deloitte again contributed to the judging panel. This initiative is part of Deloitte’s partnership with Nuorten Yrittäjyys ja Talous (NYT) – JA Finland, reinforcing our commitment to youth development and providing our people meaningful opportunities to make a positive impact in society.
Deloitte judges at the National Final Minna Goyal and Rami Saarela highlighted the high quality and passion demonstrated by all participants, emphasising the event’s role in nurturing Finland’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
Jussi Lahtinen and Niina Kurru participated as judges at the Uusimaa regional event. Jussi summarises the experience as follows: "A very positive experience. It was wonderful to see the young people’s skill and enthusiasm for their business ideas; they represent the future.”

Uskalla Yrittää is organised by Nuorten yrittäjyys ja talous NYT and is part of the Vuosi yrittäjänä programme, where students develop and operate real businesses throughout the academic year.
At the National Final, 55 youth-led companies from comprehensive, secondary, and higher education institutions across Finland presented their products, services, and sales pitches. The event attracted around 170 young entrepreneurs and included a special competition for primary school teams. The top honours went to two outstanding companies advancing to the European entrepreneurship championships in Riga, Latvia, this July:
Shroomies NYT from Etu-Töölö Upper Secondary School, Helsinki, producing protein-enriched air-dried mushroom jerky. The judges praised Shroomies for their innovative, sustainable product with strong domestic and international growth potential.

Vaara Coaching NYT from the University of Jyväskylä, offering experiential stress management coaching for teams. The team was recognised for addressing a vital issue with a professional, scalable business model.
