The Minister for Climate cancels previous tenders for offshore wind and opens up the possibility of state support for the projects.
In 2024, the Danish Energy Agency had offshore wind projects out to tender in several parts of the country. However, the tenders ended without a single bid and are now cancelled by the Minister for Climate.
The Minister for the Environment is working on new energy tenders but has not yet announced terms or locations for the projects. The minister says that work is being done to complete two to three tenders for wind farms this year. At the same time, the possibility of state aid for the projects will be initiated.
The previous goal was nine gigawatts from offshore wind by 2030, but the ambitions have now been lowered to two to three gigawatts in the same year. At the same time, the plans for Bornholm Energy Island are postponed.
