He is currently the AI lead in Deloitte’s forensic practice and a professor of AI at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. Evert focuses on applying AI and analytics to combat financial crime, including money laundering, corruption, and fraud. He is also involved in projects ensuring the ethical, fair, and transparent implementation of AI and analytics. Evert has a strong background as a researcher, consultant, and entrepreneur, having founded the data mining practice at Cap Gemini in the 1990s and served as CTO of a successful AI startup.
