Deloitte’s role in the net-zero transition

Environment | Impact Report 2026

Deloitte’s net-zero journey is central to our long-term resilience and value creation. This transformation is reshaping where and how we work, and the tools we use to deliver our work. By embedding sustainability into our decision-making, we are building a more agile, future-ready organisation – better positioned to help reduce and address climate-related risks, unlock growth opportunities, and deliver enduring impact across our value chain.

Highlights

Managing our carbon footprint

We monitor and report on our climate performance through our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Statement. The following sections detail our progress towards our climate targets for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and outline the key actions we have taken throughout FY26. Our GHG Emissions Statement has been calculated using an operational control consolidation approach, as described in the GHG Protocol, with limited assurance provided by BDO LLP at the consolidated NSE level for all reported carbon metrics.

Our Global Net-Zero Transition Plan

Transitioning to net-zero and building a resilient, low-carbon economy is a significant undertaking, marked by substantial challenges, uncertainties, and opportunities.

That is why we have taken a joint approach across the global Deloitte network and formed a global sustainability task force to develop Deloitte’s Net-Zero Transition Plan, enabling us to achieve this target. The task force comprises sustainability and functional leaders from Deloitte Global and its member firms.

We have reduced our business travel emissions by 14% per FTE compared with FY25, representing a 44% reduction per FTE against our FY19 baseline.

Harnessing our global strength to combat climate change

Since 2016, Deloitte Denmark has been part of Deloitte NSE, a collaboration among Deloitte member firms. This partnership, comprising 75,000 professionals across 30 countries, has given us the scale and expertise to leverage our collective resources and develop robust strategies to address the climate-related impacts, risks, and opportunities we share across our network.

As of 1 June 2026, we have expanded our collaborative reach through the newly established Deloitte EMEA collaboration, which spans more than 80 countries and includes 132,000 people across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Deloitte EMEA brings together local partnerships to collaborate across borders with greater speed and scale, enabling us to accelerate our efforts to combat climate change.

Our collaborative efforts enable us to effectively identify and assess material climate-related factors, integrating them into our risk management and strategic planning. This approach, informed by best practices and insights from across the region, allows us to manage and mitigate climate-related risks effectively while building resilience and capitalising on opportunities for sustainable growth – benefiting both our clients and society at large. This reflects our conviction that meaningful progress on climate action is only possible when we advance as one firm, united in purpose and collective accountability – strengthening our collective ability to address the complex climate challenges we all face.

We acknowledge that achieving our ambitious net-zero-by-2040 target will require substantial reductions in our absolute CO2e emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3. With our newly launched Net-Zero Transition Plan in place, we will continue to integrate sustainability across our operations to accelerate our progress towards our net-zero target.
