Soumak is a member of Deloitte Canada’s Financial Services Executive Leadership Team, focusing on the banking sector. He also serves as a senior leader in the firm’s global payments and digital assets practice.
Soumak's experience spans retail and business payments, including real-time payments, foreign exchange, SWIFT, debit & credit networks, and payments acquiring. He has led major initiatives across the Canadian payments ecosystem with banks, networks (Visa, Mastercard, SWIFT), FinTech and public sector organizations, advising his clients on strategy, technology, and large-scale transformations. Soumak is a leading voice in shaping the direction of policy in crypto / digital assets and advises financial institutions and regulators in navigating an evolving part of the country's financial infrastructure. He is a published author with the World Economic Forum, and a frequent speaker on the topic.
He holds an M.B.A. (Bregman Scholar) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and lives in Toronto with his wife and daughter.
