John Mavriyannakis

John Mavriyannakis is a Partner with Deloitte Canada and the National Leader of Deloitte Canada’s Financial Services Operate business. With a career spanning almost 30 years, John’s Operate experience spans advising and implementing and operating technology and business processes across nearshore and offshore locations including Mexico, India, China and other South-East Asian jurisdictions.

John is widely recognized for his ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and deliver results. His approach combines strategic vision with operational excellence, making him a valued partner to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders across the financial services ecosystem.

In his current role, John is responsible for shaping and executing Deloitte’s national strategy for Financial Services Operate. He leads a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering all facets of operate services from finance-as-a-service to cloud-enabled managed services, and technology-enabled BPO solutions. His work spans the full lifecycle operate transformations from strategy and design to implementation and operations with a focus on continuous operational evolution using agentic and other AI and automation tools.

Prior to his roles with Deloitte John held CIO, COO, Partner and Executive roles in Global F20 FS organizations, private equity, venture capital and various technology and business process outsourcing providers. His client and provider experience enables him to bring a unique and balanced outcome-driven perspective to every opportunity.

John is a global leader, having lived and led teams in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and Canada. He is a frequent keynote speaker and contributor to industry publications, including a TED talk, IAPP, CFO Magazine, Mobile Payments Today, Supply Chain Canada and others where he shares insights on operations and finance function modernization, the future of IT and evolving Private Equity operating models.

Beyond his professional work, John is deeply committed to community leadership. He currently serves as President of a large national Not for Profit focused on youth engagement and making a long-term philanthropic impact.
