Nathalie Wittock

Partner, Indirect Tax

Nathalie is a partner in Indirect Tax at Deloitte Belgium with 14 years of VAT advisory experience, specialising in the consumer and life sciences industries. She leads Deloitte Belgium’s Future of Food initiative and serves as Consumer leader for the Tax and Legal business unit. Nathalie represents Deloitte in the European Commission’s VAT Expert Group, contributing to EU policy discussions. A recognised academic, she teaches VAT at Hasselt University and the University of Antwerp, holds a PhD in VAT law, and is frequently consulted on legislative matters in Belgium.

Nathalie is a partner in Indirect Tax with about 14 years of experience as an advisor specialised in VAT. She focuses on tax matters affecting the consumer industry (consumer products, retail, and travel and hospitality) and the life sciences industry, coordinating global or regional indirect tax work for a series of European-based multinationals. ​

She is also the Future of Food leader for Deloitte Belgium and the Consumer leader for our Tax and Legal business unit, and closely follows up on policy work. In particular, she represents Deloitte in the VAT Expert Group of the European Commission and actively participates in/contributes to related discussions and studies for the European institutions. ​

Moreover, Nathalie has been teaching VAT as a professor at Hasselt University since 2019, serves as a guest professor at the University of Antwerp, and frequently speaks at internal and external seminars. She is regularly consulted by professional federations in Belgium on legislative initiatives related to her expertise and is an active member of the Antwerp Tax Academy. ​

Nathalie holds a PhD in VAT law since 2017 for her doctoral thesis on sales promotion techniques and VAT in the EU. ​
