Let’s all #EmbraceEquity together

Each year on International Women’s Day (IWD) we take time to reflect on—and celebrate—the achievements of women, both within and outside our organisation. While our focus on gender balance at Deloitte is year-round, IWD also gives us the opportunity to reflect on challenges that still exist when it comes to making gender balance a reality, and to highlight solutions to those challenges.

This year, on International Women’s Day, we are joining the drive to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to forge a better world by inspiring each other to understand and value women's inclusion.

Celebrating International Women’s Day over the years


On International Women’s Day, we highlight the importance of equity—providing an inclusive environment with equal playing field for all. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion. Everyone everywhere can play a part. Collectively, we can all forge positive change. 


International Women’s Day is exactly what it says it is. A day. But the issues it highlights exist every day. If every positive action we took on a single day was multiplied across the other 364, think how much more of an impact we could have. We don’t need to make huge life changes. Simply thinking about the language we use, offering support to a co-worker, or a simple act of solidarity towards a woman or girl in their daily lives are small acts that can have a big impact in ways we might not even realise. The Butterfly Effect shows the compounding impact of small changes.  We can all #BeTheButterfly. 


Deliberate actions such as allyship, mentorship, and inclusive leadership can be the catalyst for significant and lasting positive change. Seemingly small acts or commitments can empower us -or others - to achieve the xtraordinary. From challenge comes change, and we #ChooseToChallenge!

Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. One simple connection made at the right time can change the journey that we are all on together.

#EachforEqual represents how we can impact equal chances for all through our actions and thoughts. A small gesture can have a meaningful impact. We invited Deloitters to take a selfie and tell us about an action or a gesture that had a meaningful positive impact for them or for a colleague.


There is a strong call-to-action to progress gender parity. We are committed to #BalanceForBetter by motivating and uniting friends, colleagues, and whole communities to think, act, and be gender inclusive.

We hosted a breakast event at Deloitte Gateway featuring keynote speaker Hassan Al Hilou on the power of diversity and an expert panel who discussed three important topics: inclusive environment, women in leadership, and experience and exposure. This event was an important opportunity to hear directly from our people and to learn how we can #BalanceForBetter together.


At Deloitte Belgium, gender diversity is a priority. We aim to achieve a threefold increase in female partners by 2030. To meet this objective, we’ve drawn up an extensive action plan ranging from recruitment to evaluation procedures that pays greater attention to the differences between men and women. There's a strong call to #PressforProgress to motivate and unite friends, colleagues, and whole communities to think, act, and be gender inclusive.
