EMEA Centre of Excellence for Recovery and Resolution

Strategic planning and advice

EMEA Centre of Excellence for Recovery and Resolution

The multidisciplinary team consists of our most senior and experienced experts from across EMEA. The Centre of Excellence (“CoE ”) acts as an expert pool and a forum to bring together cross border and cross service line recovery and resolution experts from across EMEA and through the Deloitte network more broadly, including from the US and Asia Pacific.

Our CoE members bring a wealth of industry and regulatory experience. This includes former members of key international and EU organisations, such as the Single Resolution Board (SRB), European Banking Authority (EBA), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and National Supervisory and Resolution Authorities. We have also worked on recent banking crises, providing advice on complex restructuring and resolution procedures, as well as performing independent valuation roles.

We have worked with banks and other financial institutions across numerous jurisdictions, supporting them with their recovery and resolution capabilities, and enhancing their "resolvability". Our team has also supported Resolution Authorities worldwide in designing and operationalising recovery and resolution frameworks, including issuing guidance on resolvability capabilities. We have also designed and delivered end-to-end recovery and resolution simulations and developed comprehensive Master Resolution Playbooks (MRPs), ensuring institutions and Boards are well-prepared for potential crises. Through our CoE, we engage in regular discussions with Resolution Authorities, facilitate various roundtables with financial institutions (both in peer groups or on country level) and organize webinars or write blogs on latest developments.

We are deeply committed to promoting financial stability and a resilient banking sector. Our work is driven by the belief that effective recovery and resolution planning is critical for mitigating systemic risk and protecting the global financial system. We are passionate about leveraging our expertise and experience to support our clients and contribute to a safer and more stable financial future.
