Controls Assurance

Our Controls and third-party assurance specialist team applies core assurance and accounting techniques to assist our clients in assessing and enhancing their internal controls and operational performance. We focus on specialist control reviews and assurance reporting, mainly over financial services organisations, including control reviews over third-party service providers. Our portfolio of clients includes some of the largest business names in Australia and globally.

A&A Operate

Our team designs and leads large-scale operations for private and public sector clients. We're known for delivering Australia's largest financial services remediation programs, grant assessments, finance managed services, motor industry services, financial crime operations and complaint handling operations facilitated through our own in-house technology capabilities. If you want to learn the craft of operational leadership and solve complex problems, A&A Operate is the place for you.

Treasury & Regulatory Advisory (TRA)

Our newly formed Treasury & Regulatory Advisory division within Assurance comprises the following high-performing team:

  • Governance Regulation & Conduct (GRC)

We specialise in supporting our clients on governance, regulatory compliance, and retail conduct risk matters. This helps our clients, predominately within the Wealth Management, Banking, Credit, Superannuation and Insurance industries, identify past problems while strengthening their business to minimise the risk of future regulatory and conduct issues. Our support covers governance and controls reviews, regulatory advice, regulatory implementation, and remediation design and support.

Support our Risk Advisory practice in a multi-focused role involving workforce planning and demand, stakeholder management, team and career development, contractor management, skills planning and levelling & upskilling.   
 
What will you get to do?

  • You will oversee demand, supply and capability: deploying staff on engagements and identifying the most suitable person in terms of their skills and career aspirations in a timely and commercially sound manner.
  • You will also confirm staff availability & maintain schedule accuracy, follow up on actual vs forecast variances, make new resource bookings, identify engagement conflicts and assist with administration in onboarding of contractors, attend resourcing meetings and conversations on resource requirements and utilisation, provide meeting notes, reports and insights around resource management, and spotting trends, develop strong relationships with our Practitioners and the Portfolio Directors and Partners to understand their respective needs.

You’ll learn and experience first-hand how we provide clients with trusted advice for their business operations across tax litigation, taxation audit, transaction advisory, corporate law, foreign investment advisory, intellectual property, technology law, and tax controversy matters. What will you get to do?

  • Prepare evidence files to support tax positions taken
  • Prepare for proceedings in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal or the Federal Court
  • Preparing submissions to the ATO, including voluntary disclosures, remission requests and formal objections

What will you get to do?

  • Engage in client interactions addressing the personal and company tax and immigration implications associated with internationally mobile workers
  • Assist clients in responding to regulator-initiated audits and reviews relating to matters such as underpayment of wages, primary tax obligations, compliance with immigration requirements and reporting of equity-based incentives
  • Work with global teams to solve complex problems for large multinational employers
  • Migration team: Law degree and Practical Legal Training (or, at a minimum, the coursework component) OR Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice and the associated Migration Agents Capstone Assessment.
