Starting your career can feel like a big step! Our graduate program is designed so learning doesn’t sit separately from your role. Instead, it happens alongside real work, real projects and real impact.
From day one, you’re learning in the context of your role, building skills while working with your team, contributing to client outcomes and understanding how your role fits into something bigger. The learning experience at Deloitte is structured, supported and practical, without losing sight of the fact that some of the best learning actually happens when you’re doing the work.
Let’s walk through step-by-step of what the learning experience at Deloitte looks like for our Graduate cohort.
Setting you up from day one
On your first day at Deloitte, you’ll attend induction with your fellow Grads. This is where you’re introduced to Deloitte, how we work and what to expect in your graduate year. It’s designed to give you clarity and confidence before you’re fully immersed in your role.
During induction, you’ll learn about:
- Our teams, and how different parts of the business connect
- The standards and behaviours that matter in our work.
- How your role contributes to our clients and the big picture
Induction is where you’ll to learn the basics, but it’s also an excellent opportunity to meet other Graduates, so challenge yourself to make some new connections from day one.

Building core skills through Graduate Learning Academy
Early on in your experience, you’ll take part in the Graduate Learning Academy focused on practical, transferable skills you’ll use throughout your career.
This isn’t theory for theory’s sake! Everything is designed to be applied straight away in your day-to-day work. Learning sessions are practical and provide you with an opportunity to build and test out skills in a safe environment, before applying them in your role. You’ll learn a number of skills in the Academy, including:
- Structured problem solving
- Presentation and communication skills
- Using tools like Excel in a professional setting
- Personal branding and how to show up at work
Across the year, you’ll continue to build skills through a mix of in-person and virtual learning sessions, workshops that support your development over time, and opportunities to connect with other graduates and leaders across the firm.
Skills shaped by what you do
Throughout your Graduate Program, your learning includes experiences that are specific and tailored to the area you work in. Your learning at Deloitte is shaped by real world problems, and so what you learn depends on the challenges you’re helping to solve and the clients you and your team work with.
That means that your career and skills could go in so many exciting directions. For example:
- In climate and sustainability, you might learn about circular economy or sustainability strategy, giving you hands-on exposure to how organisations respond to environmental and social challenges.
- In technology, you could be involved in designing and delivering technology solutions, building practical experience in how ideas move from concept to real-world impact.
- In other areas, you may build capability across compliance, risk or advisory work, strengthening your judgement, problem-solving skills and commercial confidence.
No two graduate experiences are the same, and regardless which part of the firm you find yourself in - every day you’ll be learning, developing your skills and making an impact. In the Graduate program and beyond, much of your growth will continue to come from the work you do every day and the people you work alongside.
