Best-practice guidance on the impact of COVID-19 on the workforce
On 17 March 2020, Deloitte Legal hosted a webcast on managing the impact of COVID-19 on the global workforce. A panel comprising experienced attorneys from both Deloitte Legal and Epstein Becker Green provided a global, best-practice perspective on employment law issues amidst the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The panel discussed:
Lessons that employers can learn from the experience in China,
The restrictions employers should consider as to medical inquiries or quarantine,
The latest on the legislative framework and temporary measures regarding pay, especially during quarantine, illness, or temporary shutdown, and
How employers can maintain business continuity during the crisis—in particular, regarding paid time off, telework, and what to do when employees refuse to work because of their concern over contamination risk.
