Gareth Rees

Gareth is the climate & sustainability leader for Deloitte consulting in
South Africa. He couples his passion for global climate and
environmental sustainability with deep experience in innovation and
commercialisation in industrial technology. He has operated in
several professional environments, ranging from multiple start up
companies, to senior corporate leadership and professional
services. The golden thread throughout his professional background
has been innovation and technology commercialisation to solve
large intractable problems.

Avoiding the catastrophic scenarios of climate change is one of the
greatest challenges of our age. The world is at the beginning of an
energy revolution that is unprecedented in scale and importance,
and Africa has a meaningful role to play in this transition due to the
abundance of renewable resources, minerals and a growing young
population.
