Covid-19 has amplified the need for an improved healthcare system in order to better service our people. There needs to be collaboration between pharmaceutical companies and government in using innovation to minimise the high-cost implications associated with implementing a National Health Insurance programme.

On Wednesday, 15th September 2021, Deloitte Africa in partnership with J&J hosted a roundtable conversation around Pharma’s role in the effective implementation and adoption of the NHI in South Africa. Deloitte Africa’s Life Sciences and Health Care Industry Leader, Ashleigh Theophanides, facilitated the conversation which constituted of the following guest panel:
