Supporting Fitzalan High School
Connecting with our local community to make a difference to young people
Deloitte is proud of its school community partnership with Fitzalan High School and is committed to positively impacting the lives of its students.
Fitzalan High School is an 11–18 mixed, community secondary school and sixth form located in Leckwith, Cardiff. There are over 1,700 pupils at the school. Their pupil dynamic is very diverse and over 60 different languages are spoken within the school.
Since 2014, volunteers from Deloitte’s office in Cardiff have been working with the school in a number of ways, sharing their skills and passions to help young people on their path towards a bright future.
We support various initiatives organised by the school
In addition, our team of volunteers have facilitated visits by pupils to our offices in Cardiff and participated in Welsh in Business days.
We support various initiatives organised by the school and our volunteers regularly attend:
- Year 11 annual careers conference
- Year 9 Carousel Day to help students to choose their options
- Year 13 UCAS days, to assist with personal statement applications and mock interview sessions
- STEM talks for Year 9 girls to encourage girls into STEM careers
As well as attending specific days in the school calendar, our volunteers have designed and delivered sessions on:
- Preparation for promotion for teaching staff including mock interviews and feedback
- Dragon's Den for Year 11 pupils
- Group mentoring to encourage pupils to stay in further education
- Career development
State of the State
The State of the State brings together an exclusive survey of the UK public alongside interviews with 100 government leaders. This blend of research provides a view of the public sector from the people who use it and the people who run it.
