Deloitte today announces the appointment of Victoria Kerrigan as a partner in the firm’s financial advisory practice to focus on M&A deals funded by private equity.
She joins Deloitte from PwC where she was private equity leader of industry, having worked at the firm for over 30 years. Victoria has 25 years of deal experience with a financial due diligence focus, particularly for large and mid-tier private equity and their portfolio companies, as well as for large corporates.
Victoria is one of around 20 partners that Deloitte has recruited into its financial advisory practice over the past 12 months. Her appointment further evidences the firm’s continued investment in building a multidisciplinary M&A business and working in the private equity market.
Charindra Pathiwille, managing partner for financial advisory at Deloitte, said: “Victoria’s appointment is well-timed to help ensure our clients are best placed to make the most of the market opportunities that will arise. This is all part of our firm’s wider ambition to help clients transform at pace through M&A and it is a key strategic priority for our business.
“More than $8 trillion worth of deals were announced in 2021-2022, as companies took advantage of their strong cash reserves and favourable debt markets to make M&A central to business recovery.* We’re expecting mergers and acquisitions activity to pick up in the second half of 2023 and private equity investors are actively pushing ahead with bids in an improving outlook for the economy.”
Victoria Kerrigan, partner in Deloitte’s financial advisory practice concluded: “I’m very excited to be joining Deloitte's private equity team. This sector is a crucial source of capital to help UK businesses grow. Increasingly, business transformation is becoming a much more important part of the private equity deal equation and investors are pushing to develop their portfolio businesses through advanced technologies, cloud adoption and using digital routes to market. I’m looking forward to bringing Deloitte’s significant business transformation know how and industry expertise to help private equity investors make the right decisions and to build stronger, more competitive and resilient businesses in the UK.”
