Deloitte comments on today's ONS GDP figures

Commenting on today’s ONS GDP figures, Debapratim De, director of economic research at Deloitte, said:
“Today's GDP release confirms what business and consumer surveys have been pointing to for some time - that the UK is out of the recession it slipped into last year.
“This is a surprisingly strong recovery and a likely turning point for the economy. If price pressures continue to ease this year, quarterly growth is expected to keep pace with the UK's long-term trend. This would mark an end to the period of low-to-no growth we have endured for almost two years.”
